~The Kimberly Elaine bobbed up and down on the tiny swells that rolled in from the open ocean and into the cove. Both sails were tied up and the anchor chain pressed down a little on the wood, coercing a faint moan of frustration from the dented plank. A semi mange, leopard spotted, cat franticly skittered across the deck as he chased a wounded beetle and recklessly tipping over several small boxes of provisions and numerous small different colored bottles of mysterious content.
Their was a cacophony of laughing as the gulls perched on the nearby rocks found the sight of the cat dashing away from it's mess and running headlong into on of the railings on the port side highly amusing. The cat slunk away into the galley where a wide, squat, teapot was sitting on a heated metal slab and beginning to emit the thin tendrils of steam from the boiling water inside. Several kinds of crushed herbs and tea leaves sat on the counter next to the teapot waiting to be mixed with the tea.
Outside of the small galley the cheery and rhythmic notes of a Kalimba floated down from the top sails. The beat was slightly repetitive but the player was skilled enough to hide the tempo in a myriad of lighter notes and rhythms to make the music sound ever changing, and as rolling as the sea it's self. Long fingers, not so delicate anymore, scarred and some bent from being broke several times gently tapped on the metal prongs of the instrument seemingly of their own accord; and weaving the song to match their dance on the instruments keys. Naturally jade green eyes began to take on a more glowing shine as the sun set behind them and began to cast parts of the deck into shadow. The last few minutes of the suns fingertips gave astounding color to the elf's long light brown hair. Dirty blond highlights stood out like rivers of gold, and the usual flowing strands of a rich brown were now their true polished bronze. And the skin that was exposed to the light from the three quarter length pants, a worn out sleeveless cotton shirt, and that escaped the artful curves and scripts of many tattoo's; seemed to be both absorbing and reflecting the red sky and orange sun tips almost blending the elf into setting sky.
A small smile of wonder curved the edges of his lips as he watched the light, for a fleeting moment, pierce the depths of the water below him and illuminate the bottom of the sea and all of it's mysteries. The very last ray of sunlight reached out and struck the small orb that hung from one of the three ear rings that hung from the mans left ear, and contained several droplets of water from a sea ages away from here, dousing the local beach in a shimmering haze of aqua blue. The last note from the Kalimba faded away when the sun finally set and Cresent Seaspear climbed down the rope ladder to go and fix his evening tea, finally happy that he got to spend every evening the same luxurious way.~
